Options

Our system is not based on modular sizes allowing us the flexibility to produce designs to meet most requirements.  The system has also been developed to allow us to incorporate most standard window and door types.  This, coupled with a choice of floor and roofing materials, gives our clients the freedom to design and specify a unique building which reflects their individual character and taste.

Windows & Doors

A wide variety of sizes, styles and specifications are now available ex stock from the major joinery manufacturers and a number of smaller companies specialising in this area.   Alternatively we can fit your own custom made joinery items.  Our standard specification uses timber framed softwood windows fitted with lockable stays.  All opening sashes are fully weather stripped and fitted with adjustable ventilators.   External doors are manufactured from selected redwood and normally supplied complete with three point locking system, weather bar and draught strip.  Plywood flush doors with a high quality natural veneer are used internally with mortice locks or latches and brass finish lever furniture.

Glazing

All windows and doors are normally supplied pre-glazed with sealed double glazed units.   Where required by Building Regulations toughened safety glass is used.  We are pleased to provide extra over costs for gas filled units, high performance glazing and triple glazed units on request.

Roofing Materials

Interlocking concrete roof tiles complete with dry fix ridge and verge systems offer a virtually maintenance free roof.  A wide range of tile profiles and colours are available to suit individual preferences.  Traditional slate, fibreglass or cedar shingles, profiled metal sheeting and even turf have all been used in the past, opening up the options even further.

Decoration

All exterior timber surfaces are treated with two coats of preservative stain once erection is complete.  Most clients choose to use a single colour, however it is possible to use more colours to highlight window and door facings and other trim.  Again a wide range of colours is available as standard.

Interior timber surfaces are generally treated with a clear fire retardant varnish to meet Building Regulation requirements.
